The President Calls Relatives of Injured Guard Soldiers to the White House

Former President Trump stated on Sunday that he has extended an invitation the family of a National Guard member killed last week to visit the White House.

He mentioned that he contacted her family and they were “deeply grieving”.

Details on the Devastating Incident

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, 20, was lost her life in a shooting on last Wednesday in Washington DC.

Her fellow service member, US air force staff Sgt Andrew Wolfe, twenty-four years old, continues receiving treatment in critical condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have occurred in their memory.

White House Invitation

The president explained he’s discussed a meeting at the presidential residence for the families of both soldiers of the West Virginia Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re prepared, because that’s a hard experience, come to the White House. We’re going to pay tribute to her,” Trump told the press. “And likewise with him, no matter the outcome.”

Community Response

Mourners came together over the past few days at Webster County high school in West Virginia to remember Beckstrom.

Both they had been working with the state guard as part of Trump’s federal initiative to support policing efforts in DC.

Paying Tribute to the Soldier

“Sarah was the type of pupil that instructors hoped for. She conducted herself with calm resilience, a bright grin and a optimistic attitude that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the leader of Beckstrom’s previous school, informed the press. “She was sweet, caring and always ready to assist people.”

Service plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Judicial Steps and Policy Adjustments

Officials have accused a 29-year-old Afghan national with a charge of homicide and two counts of attempted murder while carrying a weapon.

The incident caused the administration to pause asylum processing and temporarily stop providing entry permits to owners of travel documents.

Status of Andrew Wolfe

Wolfe, a resident of the city, enlisted in February 2019 and is a graduate of his local high school, as reported by the AP.

He is still undergoing care and is “in a critical fight”, West Virginia leader Patrick Morrisey mentioned on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer Bondi told a news show that she planned to visit the family.

Memory of Beckstrom

Sarah, from her hometown, completed her education from her high school in 2023 and enlisted soon after, working as a military police officer with excellence, per the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of goodness and she absolutely had fortitude,” Morrisey informed the crowd at the service. “Though her life was cut short, she has made an impact that’s going to be remembered always.”
