Liverpool's Star Issues Statement to Teammates, Says Curtis Jones

Curtis Jones has shared that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad after the uproar from his public comments.

What Happened

The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match subsequent to making accusations and stating his connection to the head coach had soured.

“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, please accept my apology.’”

Arne Slot has previously declined to comment publicly on whether he was apologised to from the player.

Looking Ahead

Jones insisted that the team's response was unchanged. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.

Jones also implied that a competitor wanting to play is a positive trait. “I understand there are different methods you can go about things,” he said. “But if a lad’s fine to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”

On-Field Response

Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the matches since the interview fallout. He feels the forward's comments were never meant to destabilise the squad.

“When there’s been any sort of anger, the source has been from a place of caring,” Jones concluded. “We’re past that now and we’re building chemistry, playing well and securing victories.”
