Over in the AFC, championship race is thoroughly confusing. The four teams leading their divisions through ten weeks: Indianapolis, New England, Denver (all at 8-2) and the Steelers (5-4 record). Historically strong franchises, supported by the league’s best quarterbacks, have either obvious team deficiencies or are dealing with health issues.

Lacking competent QB performance, Denver cannot intimidate anyone in the postseason. Los Angeles remains nearby within their division at 7-2, however, health issues within their blocking corps will create difficulties to achieve championship contention.

They have a negative point differential, their defense too often disappears, and the QB's current constraints during his career phase regularly manifest. They’re 5–4 and holding on, but Baltimore, with Lamar Jackson healthy again with manageable games ahead, are riding a three-game streak. This development isn't entirely shocking that the Ravens have pulled the gap to just one game, though the speed of this shift represents criticism toward the Steelers' uneven performances. The fact Baltimore began with a 1-5 record and still look like likely to claim the title speaks volumes regarding the complete conference.

Baltimore constitutes part of the Big Three – together with Bills and Chiefs – fueled by former MVP signal-callers, who could still create the greatest concern among competitors if they qualified. They're the teams everyone hopes to avoid, but the Chiefs and Bills persistently undermine themselves.
